We are excited to announce that Paula Zahn, formerly of FOX News and CNN's NOW, has joined the Beth Williams Field of Dreams Foundation as our Honorary Chairwoman. Paula and Beth first met in 1997, when CBS' 48 Hours was preparing to feature the Williams family on a segment which looked at new medical techniques that have changed lives.
Beth was pregnant when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer. There was a time just previous to her diagnosis that women in her situation would be advised to have an abortion and begin immediate chemotherapy treatment. Beth opted instead for what was then a very new alternative to continue the pregnancy and delay chemotherapy until later in her term. As the CBS corespondent on the 48 Hours story, Paula Zahn was there with Jim and Beth Williams before, during, and after the birth of their son Mac, November of 1997.
Paula will have a key role in our marketing efforts and has agreed to be featured on our upcoming DVD that will tell the Beth Williams story and detail the mission of the Field of Dreams Foundation.
